Lockdown, Day 42: Deadliest 24 hours for India

India is finally stirring back to life after six weeks of one of the harshest lockdowns in the world. But the reopening has hardly brought any cheer. Anxiety still clouds the outlook amid a lack of meaningful fiscal help for workers and companies.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the country saw the sharpest spike yet - 3900 fresh cases & 195 casualties.
