Mutul funds doing token bond deals to mark up debt fund returns? That's what Sebi is trying to check as it has asked fund houses to submit details of recent trades in debt papers, including Inter Scheme Transfers, and ones that led to a mark-up in bond valuations. The charge is that funds are entering into token deals through 'self-trades' or 'own trades' to sell part of holdings at higher prices to mark up valuation of existing bonds as Sebi rules allow them to value papers based on last transactions.
